Sixth Sunday of Pentecost

Christ Has Broken Down the Wall of Hatred

Ephesians 2: 14

The wall of hate is often gilded and elaborately decorated, built over a core of trash and garbage.

Put up a green background with any sort of landscape you like and add the banner.

Make sure the broken down wall shows the rottenness inside, as well as the forlorn elements of its former outside beauty.

Trace around the children's hands on many colors of fun foam or construction paper, and build handshakes of peace across the wall of hate.

For more active groups, you might want to build and decorate - and of course, smash - a wall made of cardboard boxes.

An older class might enjoy Robert Frost's poem, "Mending Wall."
