Eighteenth Sunday of Pentecost

The Laws of the Lord Are Sweet

Psalm 19: 10

This bulletin board is based on Psalm 19:10, the psalm for the third Sunday of Epiphany.

The landscape can be any color (the color of Epiphany is green), and the beehive can be made out of corrugated cardboard or any textured material.

The children can make the bees from black and gold two-inch pompons, with pipe cleaners for feelers and gold paper lace doilies for wings. Glue googly eyes (from the craft store) to each bee to make it complete. Staple the bees to the bulletin board. The letters can be cut out individually or may be printed on a computer banner program.

Jewish children are given honey when they begin Bible study, to remind them of the sweetness of God's word. But many Christian children have never tasted honey. If you can find honey in the comb, bring some to class and serve it with crackers. And cookies sweetened with honey instead of sugar are always good.
