The Conversion of St. Paul

Saul Sees the Light

Acts 9: 1 - 22

Saul's story is a very vivid account of a dramatic conversion, or change, to Jesus' way of living. Saul is the first person we know about who chose to follow Jesus without having met him in person. After his conversion, Saul became Paul, taking a new name to go with his new life.

Paul's traveling, teaching, and especially his writing, brought the early Christians together as one church, one Body of Christ. His emphasis on the risen Christ's effect on our lives still unifies Christians today.

The Book of Acts was written by Luke, who sometimes traveled with Paul, serving as his secretary.
