Holy Cross Day

God Chooses the Foolish to Put the Wise to Shame

I Corinthians 1: 18 - 31

Even when God is foolish, he is wiser than everyone else, and even when God is weak, he is stronger than everyone else.

What an amazing and powerful God we have!

God calls us, not because of who we are, but because of who he is, and he knows how to use us for his purposes.

Today, Paul points out what God's main purpose is for calling us to his service. Are we always willing to give him the credit?

This is a great day to sing Micah 6: 8 in Maranatha! Music Praise Chorus Book, 2nd Edition: He has shown thee, O man, what it is the Lord requires of thee.

1. Who does God call to his service?

[God calls the foolish and the weak.]

2. Why did God call the foolish and the weak?

[God called the foolish and the weak so that everyone could see the power of God working through them.]

3. Why did God send Jesus to us?

[God sent Jesus to make us wise, acceptable, and holy.]

4. If there is anything to brag or boast about, what should it be?

[We should brag and boast about how wonderful God is.]
