Second Sunday of Easter

Your Faith Will Be Like Gold that Is Tested in a Fire

1 Peter 1: 7

Refining gold by heating it until all the impurities have burned off was something regular people in Jesus' time would have seen happen in a bazaar or workshop.

Our faith also gleams like gold when all the impurities of sin have been burned away.

Put up the background and the banner.

Cut flames on the five-fold from red, orange, and yellow tissue paper (like cutting stars), making them as lacy as you can.

Staple them to the bulletin board, and then glue gold beads around the base of the flames.

(A worker in gold would have melted his gold dust in a pot, but the craft was discovered by seeing the effect direct flame had on gold.)

And let our faith shine forth, like 24 karat gold.
