Good Shepherd Sunday

The Good Shepherd Gives Up His Life for His Sheep

John 10: 11- 18

What happens to the sheep when the shepherd is dead?

Sheep without a shepherd huddle together in confusion, making short, abrupt forays into unknown and unsafe places.

But Jesus, our Good Shepherd, who is safe with God the Father in heaven, watches over us with tender care even after he has given up his life on earth for us.

1. Who does Jesus say he is?

[Jesus says he is the good shepherd.]

2. What does the good shepherd do?

[The good shepherd gives up his life for his sheep.]

3. What does Jesus say about his sheep?

[Jesus says, "I know my sheep, and they know me."]

4. What will Jesus do with his other sheep?

[Jesus will bring them together, so there will be one flock of sheep and one shepherd.]
