Seventh Sunday of Epiphany

A Seed Must Die Before It Can Sprout from the Ground

1 Corinthians 15: 36

That death comes before life is one of Jesus' recurring images in his last days.

But before we plant, we prepare the soil.

Find small (four-ounce) plastic cups at the party goods store, as close to flower pot-shaped as possible.

Crumble Oreo cookies and let the children mix them with prepared chocolate pudding - equal proportions are a good beginning.

Plant sunflower seeds in the dirt (or peanuts or other nuts).

Add at least one gummi worm.

Pass out the spoons, and enjoy!

For those of you who live in climates where this is a good day for planting, plant some seeds outdoors today, and watch them live and grow during the growing season.
