Thirteenth Sunday of Pentecost

Abraham Is the Rock from Which We Are Chipped

Isaiah 51: 1

All the Semitic peoples - Jews and Arabs - trace their genealogy to Abraham: of course, this includes Jesus.

And through Jesus' suffering, death, and resurrection, we are all become Jesus' children - and Abraham's.

Put up a green background and the banner.

Using sandpaper or corrugated cardboard, make a large rock for Abraham.

If you can find sand glue, let each child decorate a small box or shape to represent himself or herself. They can use their names or make other designs or symbols they associate with themselves.

Chalk on sandpaper also makes good rocks, though they won't be three-dimensional. Glue or staple the finished rocks to the board.
